PARENTING STYLE INDICATOR
Overall, parenting styles can be analytical (sequential, logical, left brain
dominant) or comprehensive (simultaneous, global, right brain dominant). Parents
who are more left brained or analytical in their learning, may parent more by
rules, lists, details, and structure. Those who are more right brained or
comprehensive, may parent more by telling stories, drawing pictures, role
playing or games with less structured. Although this is only a theory, there is
ongoing research which looks at learning theories as they relate to brain
dominance. Parents need to develop specific parenting styles related to the
learning style of the child (children). This survey is designed to assist in the
analysis of the way you parent and how you may be more effective. It is an
excellent way for both parents to complete the checklist (two must be ordered)
so an open discussion concerning parenting can happen. This is especially good
when done with the BRAIN and LEARNING STYLES INDICATORS.
